Caution: Do not open ink cartridge packages until you are ready to install

the ink. Cartridges are vacuum packed to maintain reliability.

in “Any questions?”.

Remove all the tape.

Install ink cartridges

Note: Don’t load paper before installing the ink cartridges.

1 Lift up the scanner.

2 Open the cartridge cover.

3 Unpack the ink cartridges.

4 Remove only the yellow tape from each cartridge.

Caution: Don’t remove any other seals from the cartridges.

3 Close the scanner.

Note: Don’t connect the RX680 Series

to the computer yet.

3 Load paper against the right edge guide and behind the tab, with the

printable side face up.

Note: Don’t load the paper sideways;

always load it short edge first.

4 Slide the edge guide over.

Front paper cassette

1 Pull out the paper cassette.

2 Lift off the cover.

3 Press in the tab on each edge

guide and slide them to fit the

paper you are loading.

4 Load paper with the printable side

face down.

Note: Don’t load paper above the

arrow mark inside the paper guide.

5 Fit the edges of the paper

against the paper guides.

Note: Make sure the paper

fits properly.

6 Replace the cover and insert the cassette back into the printer.

Rear sheet feeder

1 Open the paper support and pull up its extension.

2 Slide the edge guide to the left.

1 Make sure the scanner

is open.

2 Connect the USB cable (not included) and route it through the slot.

1 Connect the power cable.

2 Press the On button.

Turn on the RX680 Series

5 Insert the cartridges in

the holder for each color.

6 Press the cartridges down until they click.

7 Close the ink cartridge cover and press it

down until it clicks.

8 Close the scanner.

9 Press the OK button to charge ink. Charging takes about 2

/2 minutes.

Caution: Don’t turn off the RX680 Series while the On light is

flashing or you’ll waste ink.
