setting a power-On password

To set a power-on password, follow these steps:

Select

Set Initial Power-on Password

at the

Password Utility Menu.

You see a prompt to enter a password of up to seven

characters. Follow the instructions on the screen to enter the

password twice and return to the Password Utility Menu.

Your power-on password is also now your keyboard

password. If you want to set a different keyboard

password, see “Setting a keyboard password” below.

If you will be using your computer in a network, follow the

steps in the next section to activate a network password.

Activating a network password

activate

a network password, follow these steps:

First set a power-on password as described above.

Select

Activate/Deactivate

Network

Password

from

the Password Utility Menu,

At the Network Password menu, select

Activate

Network Password.

You see a message confirming the activation. Press IEnter

You see the Password Utility Menu.

To deactivate a network password, follow the steps above, but

select

De-activate Network Password

instead. If you

want to set a different keyboard password, see the next section.
